Thematic Board Game 2021

Ziggurat Of Ur

Ziggurat of Ur is a board game deeply rooted in the historical and mythological context of ancient Mesopotamia. The narrative casts players as scavengers navigating the ruins of a ziggurat to locate the lost jewelry of Nanna, the moon god. A primary challenge of this project was maintaining strict adherence to the cultural, artistic, and historical realities of the era, which required translating real-world archaeological studies into functional game design.

Historical Integration

The game's world-building, visual assets, and narrative framework were built on extensive research into Mesopotamian architecture, traditional stories, and surviving wall paintings to ensure an authentic experience.

Iterative Playtesting

The core game mechanics were rigorously tested and elevated through structured feedback sessions. These playtests were conducted with a large, diverse pool of volunteers across various age groups and backgrounds to ensure balanced and accessible gameplay.
